Location: Alberta | Good job Sherlock you tracked them down from the ad Have you decided which one you"re buying yet? The extra wide whitewalls take away from the sport look of these cars is my opinion. On these cars "Red Sells " as they say and the interior I like better than in the blue one. Good Luck |

Location: Pacific Northwest | Neither one of these, thank you. Restorations like this are not my thing. They remind me too much of an era that I have no connection to. The fifties to me was the era that the factories started producing hot rods and the inception of the AHRA, NHRA and NASCAR.
I've spoken to seller for a moment when he posted an ad about a year ago, without pictures. If I remember right the red car was originally a red car and the blue car was changed. Also, If I am going to be buying in the 20-30,000 dollar range the car better be pretty darn nice.
What constitutes a nice car to me? Originality. |

Location: Under the X in Texas | The blue car shows a fan shroud. The red car does not (or maybe not showing - different angle). Are the '56 Dodges supposed to have a fan shroud? Or just the Hemi cars? My CRL does not have one.

Location: Parts Unknown | I have owned a number of 56 Dodges over the years. All the more-or-less
unmolested cars had fan shrouds still in place. I suspect that was the norm.
None were six cylinder cars, so I do not know what those might have had originally.

Location: Under the X in Texas | Thanks, Doc. Just spent some time in the '55-58 Master Parts book. As best I can read it (MoPar parts books ALWAYS challenge), the '55 and '56 Dodges and Plymouths WITHOUT AC all had shrouds. However only the '56 Dodge WITH AC did NOT have a shroud. Why only '56 Dodge and not Plym I don't know. My car doesn't have AC (so should have had a shroud) but will be adding vintage AC. May have to adapt a shroud around the new AC and new alternator regardless. |

I have asked the same question. My NOS parts guy who has a 55 Custom Royal 270 cu in hemi convertible has the fan shroud. My 56 Custom Royal D500 does not have a shroud. Can't tell if it ever had one or not.

Location: Buena Park, CA | My 1956 V-8 Plymouth and Dodge both shipped without a fan shroud. Neither has the provisions/brackets on the factor radiator for them. However, my '56 Plymouth parts car that was originally a flat 6, does have a shroud on the factory radiator. |
