Location: Belgium, 40 miles south of Brussels | Hi everyone,
I just installed a NOS front fender antenna on my '58 Belvedere.
It's a WARD brand one.
The lowest height the antenna mast will go is about 20 inches.
I find that very high for a "closed" antenna.
Is that normal ?

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | I believe mine is aftermarket and is supposed to look like facory. Just a quick look at mine that is tight against the wall in my garage so I can't get to it, it looks like the bottom section of 3 is around 10" +/- so the whole thing would probably collaps down to around a foot +/- and fully extended, which I believe is the suggested height for best AM/FM reception, is around 30-32". Maybe the orginals are 20"? |

I have 3 sections, each one measuring at least 15 inches.
When fully extended, it is over 45 inches !

Location: Hay Lakes, Alberta, Canada | Longer antennas were used on the tube and tube/transistor hybrid radios, than on the later fully transistorized units. My Cad*!@* power antenna is 60" fully extended! It has a permanent curve from all the years of plowing through the wind... |
