Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | For those of you who are doing, or contemplating, a Hemi/Poly rebuild, Rockauto has overhaul sets available. No way to know what quantity they have but the prices are less than what I have paid to my warehouse....
Thanks to Mopar1 for the heads-up! |

Location: Chestertown, NY ( near Lake George) | I used that gasket kit in my 55, found the intake gaskets were of poor quality, got Felpros for the intakes instead, wp gaskets not so good either, very thin material. This was a few years back, though.

| Fel pro is a quality gasket manufacturer. I coat the thinner paper gaskets that seal water passages with a thin coat of rtv silicon just for my reassurance. They are thin so if you have pits or uneven surfaces its not bad practice. Hevent had any problems with fel pros. |

Location: Northen Virginia | Fel-pro made a substantial part of the components of the gasket sets in China now, for a manufacture country that put Styrofoam in dogs food, formaldehyde in floors and lead paint in kids toys, you can only imagine the quality of their products...

| FEL PRO gaskets --- WERE the very best gaskets EVER...... however, about 10 years ago, the company was sold --- and there clearly has been some slippage --in all areas (quality has clearly suffered) (they have "obsoleted" a lot more numbers) (many NON - USA now)....
Yes, time marches on, and sadly, some of what happens is not necessarily for the better.
That being said, for much of their line, they are sincerely better than Best or Victor -- and of course, McCord, Fitzgerald, & others are Out of Business.............. |

Location: Peoples Republic of Oregon | ...some folks swear by Fel-pro just like others swear by Best, some folks swear at both of them. Sad fact is that they are the only choice for new, full, sets for many 50's engines. Yes, the Chinese have been guilty of some pretty bad stuff, but then we are stuck with the Bernie Madoff types.....let the buyer beware.... |
