Location: Chicago | Fairly solid and complete 300-D in a fairly remote location. Could be a good deal for someone. This VIN was not previously known to the 300 Club.

Location: Lower Mainland BC | Looks like a real project. First 10 days would be de-mouse sh*tting the car.
*IF* I had a 58 Chrysler, I would seek out and install 57 Chrysler taillights on it. Those 58 taillights just don't work well on those big fins. Likewise 58 Plymouths, I would install 57 Plymouth taillights.

In some ways better than mine and some ways not as good as mine...
Hmmmmm......

Location: The Mile High City | Aw, heck! Put in a new battery, change the fluids
maybe a little wash, wipe, vacuum and yer ready to roll!
It is neat to see an unrestored car, rough as it is.
somebody oughtta put this one in the aftermarket AC thread. |

Location: CA | What's really weird to me is that the a/c unit is in the trunk and not under the dash! How do the a/c lines run, do they run all the way back there?? |

They would/should run underneath the car all the way to the trunk.
This is exactly how the '57 and later dual a/c cars did it and also the '56 and earlier cars that were only equipped with rear units. |

Location: CA | That's really interesting.. I don't think I've ever seen that before. I've seen factory in dash type, and dealer add-on under dash type. I've seen a rear roof mounted unit in a wagon, are wagons with rear a/c the same way? |

Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | Shoot, we have AC lines run from the Number 2 engine along the front of the wing and into the cabin on our Beech Craft King air 200's. (uses F0rd Frigidaire Compressor). |

Location: Parts Unknown | I used to think the same way about the 58 tail lights ..... until I saw them
lit up at night. Now I find the 57 tail lights to be "excessive" and prefer the
58's. The cut-away air space above the lens gives an added appearance of
the overswept fin tip too.
Get a gander at a 58 Chrysler at night with those fin ends lit up in the ambiant
glow of those lights. Much more impressive than the single bulb that creates
a bright spot in an otherwise dimly lit "rabbit's ear".

Location: Houston | That rear AC box did provide cold air but it was actually developed as a primitive All Wheel Drive system for snowy roads. That's because it adds about 400lbs right over the rear axle.... |

| $15,700 was the final price. So with the 10% commission and transport you would be close to $20k. I'm shocked it went that high, I was in at about $10k. |

I think people have a lot more disposable income than they used to! |

Location: Houston | I think it's been a long time since you could buy a more or less complete D for under $15K. I can recall seeing them for sale in 'restorable' shape for $15K 30 years ago in Hemmings. |
