Pretty cool. I wonder what that Hemi manifold is from?

The Hemi photo is of Carl Kiekhaefer's black "Road America competition model" coupe as it was being prepared for NASCAR road race competition in spring of 1957. The series was cancelled in June. Car was put back to street use and is not known to exist. The exhaust manifolds were aluminum castings made in Mercury Marine's own foundry. Carl's son believes he saw this one and only pair in his storage building decades later but they have never surfaced. I own the companion Road America car (Charcoal Gray) and it never had a pair of these manifolds. Rather it has the factory optional "high flow" exhaust manifolds which were part of the 399 option code for that year.
