Location: Cochrane, Alberta | Going to remove all 4 doors on my 58 chrysler to start the body restoration; obviously removing the doors themselves are easy, but I am wondering how to go about disconnecting the door straps that keep the doors from swinging to far open; looks like the keeper pins in both ends ar rivented into the pivot brackets, and the brackets are riveted into the A and B posts.
I couldn't find any references in the shop manual, so hoping someone can help me out before I start trying my ideas and perhaps bending or breaking something. |

Location: Invermere B.C. Canada - Rocky Mountains | Until corrected and suitably punished, it is my understanding that the pivot rivet head needs to be ground off (at the bottom if looks are important or on top if the belly or arthritis requires so) and replaced with a small machine screw and nut or a cotter pin(?) or a new rivet (not avaliable OEM).
