I have my front seat out to test the recently purchased carpet set in there. While the seat is out, I want to paint the seat base (semi-gloss black). It would be better to remove the seat back from the frame but I don't know how.
Mine vaguely looks like 71Chargerfan's 55 Plymouth front seat:

So Dave, do you think that 71charger's (Terrence's) )plymouth seat is a lot different or kind of similar to your Dodge?
I have the seats out of my '56 Plodge (Plymouth) and I would have a look at them for you if it would be helpful.
Just so that a old guy understand what you need to know; is it the back cushion on the front seat that you want to remove from the base?
Whoops, Just had a brain cramp, my car is a two door and the seat folds forward so it has a hinge thingy (tech term) is that going to matter?

I'm eventually going to have to remove the seat backs from the frame. It looks as if I may have to pry the hinges free, but I'm afraid of warping or breaking something.
