As a modified car, I like most of it (but not the louvered hood). Really like the wheels.

What Power Brake set-up is this?

That is a GM Hydro-Boost. It uses hydraulic fluid pressure provided by the power steering pump to generate power brake assist. It was used on various GM products ranging from light trucks to the infamous 350 diesel passenger cars to seemingly random luxury models like big Cadillac's and some of the full size front wheel drive cars like the Toronado/Rivieras.

They came in a few different versions, but most were like this one - long and narrow. They were often used in applications where engine vacuum might be questionable for power brake use (like a diesel) or where packaging was an issue. I've seen a few used in custom applications like this, and they seem to be gaining popularity. They are somewhat compact compared to the typical short/large diameter booster, but then you have to consider the extra hoses (and potential for leaks).

Thanks Gregg. I understand the principle. Both my 93 Audi S4 (20V inline 5 turbo) and my 94 S4 V8 wagon have hydraulically assisted power brakes. Seems to work fine (as long as *ALL* the components are working). Not as simple as vacuum assist.

I am not familiar with GM Hydro-Boost but it has come up here a few times lately.

No Matt, if you thought that because of the rear side window, that's what the convert windows look like. Hope that answered you question. Too easy mate.
