Location: NorCal | you get ready to do a task, get all the parts and tech info you need and then the part isn't the same as what's shown in the book?
My '57 Dodge P/S pump has leaked for a long time so I got a seal and bearing for it but, when I disassembled it, it doesn't look like what's in the factory service manual. The pump I have is shown in the parts book but the service manual one is different so I'm having problem with disassembly and, of course, the parts I have won't fit.
My problem is the "retainers" circled in red in the pic below, how do you remove the retainers to allow the shaft to be removed?
