eBay is your friend. There are hundreds of 12volt to 6volt, or 12volt to 5 volt regulators all for less than $4 delivered to your door. These are all sealed and water proof. Most will supply 3 amps which is ample for your needs. Or there are more expensive models which can provide more current.
