Location: Seven Valleys, PA | I am planning to have my '59 Dodge re-upholstered, but do not have teh riginal seat covers (they were re-upholstered years ago by a previous owner who changed the pattern). I'd like to restore it to original. I can get the materials, and I have photos of other cars showing what it is supposed to look like, but the upholstere would have to guess at the sizes of the various sections of cloth vonyl. Does anyone have patterns or mesurements, or a car with original style upholstery they would be willing to measure? I could offer a modest fee for your service. The pic below shows the pattern I am after. I think they called it the custom coronet (aka "Snowflake") interior. My car also has the swivel seats as shown below. Thanks and Regards, Lou

Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) | I bet someone here can measure their seat for you. a few numbers and arrows on your pictures should be all you need. I call that pattern 'puppy paw'. No snowflakes for me. Finding vinyl with lines like that will be difficult. If you find some , please let me know, my 58 Belvedere uses it horizontally. Marc. |

Location: Seven Valleys, PA | mstrug: I ordered it from SMS. They emboss the lines in the standard vinyl as needed. Told me they might already have some on hand We'll see how that goes.

Thanks! Let us know how long it takes. We wonder if they finally got their act together since the purchase of Original Auto Interiors. |

Location: Seven Valleys, PA | I placed my order a couple weeks ago, and have had no correspondence since, so we'll see how it goes. Many of these suppliers/vendors are busy, even mid season (I got a quote of 14 weeks to do a radio conversion, for example).
Meanwhile...still no one out there with a Coronet willing to send upholstery pattern measurements ? NOoOoOoo one ? :-) |

Location: Perth Australia | I was lucky (to a point) when I did my dodge in that I had remnants to work off, The front seat I did to match the rear seat. The front seat was a Plymouth seat, so the pattern was different
Anyway, as making a proper pattern generally will destroy the seat cover, perhaps your going to have to buy a seat? there are so many little
facets to the seats construction that without an old seat cover to go off at hand, it wont be correct anyway
As I was saying about my front seat, I had to scale what the seat was going to look like as the front seat is/was smaller than the rear

Location: Seven Valleys, PA | I'd prefer not to go as far as buying a seat. I'd rather than just get as close as possible to the original pattern with some measurements, and to figure out if the upholstery in these photos is correct (piping location & color).

Location: Seven Valleys, PA | I received my SMS upholstery order today! Alas, I still do not have the upholstery pattern/measurements, so I can't get an upholsterer to work on the car. My facebook posting got some comments, but no measurements yet. :-(

Location: So. Cal | Interior patterns are the hardest to figure out because it's very rare for anyone to have an original interior still intact. But I agree that someone on here should know, it's just a matter of time for them to read your post. Good luck with the search. |

Good plan. However, I don't know if you ever said which model of 59 Dodge you had, i.e. Coronet, Royal or Custom Royal, or body style, i.e. sedan or 2dr hardtop, etc. This info is important because there wasn't just one interior design.
Custom Royal 4 dr hardtop:
Royal:
Coronet (I see piping by the way):
This image came from the video link (which has lots of good info when he sticks the camera inside the car):

When I talked to SMS last year they said "Yes we do complete seats". (I'm all happy) "You'll have to send us your existing factory seat coverings so we make the patterns for the new covers". (I am all sad )

| hi have a coronet with custom coronet trim package ive spoke to u on face book site i will get photos and measurments for you asap my seats are 250 miles away at the upholsterers am tring to get there in the next few weeks, sms dont have patterns for custom coronet i spoke to them years ago plus their price was outa control to australia nearly 10 thousand dollars delivered to australia and a three year wait....plus you had tpo pay up front a big risk when they didnt have patterns either.
also the black and red trim shots u have are not original custom coronet the door trims are not right ill take some shots of mine to show u how they were originally
.also custom coronet trim option didnt come with the snowflake pattern inserts unless it was specially ordered.
they had the 9101 to 9104 cloth mine has the 9103 mines tan by the book but its more pink than tan also its a metalic vinyl.. you can tell if its custom coronet trim by the cutout in the center of the backrest in the front and rear seats too also by the design of the door cards.
mine has only got a front and rear bench seat sadly but the trim pattern is the same cheers hope this helps out i will send the info asap cheers man ive had so much trouble sourcing info on custom coronet rim over the last ten years its pretty rare option as far as i can see cheers brett |

Location: Seven Valleys, PA | For those interested, here is what my car's upholstery looks like now (redone 20+ years ago in a custom pattern bythe previous owner). Plus the door/side panels. I am trying to revert the seats to authentic materials.

Good luck. You might have to fake it, i.e. create a mock-up and adjust sizes until it looks right according to the original brochure images (or factory photos)
From a 59 Dodge brochure: interiors (BTW: I definitely see welting/piping at the corners and your "custom" door panel looks pretty close to the factory's):
