| Working on my first fin car and was wondering if it is better to split the engine and trans for removal or take them out as a unit. I have an engine hoist that will handle both but as long and bulky as the torque flite looks I am worried about it clearing the firewall heater unit coming out. Its a 325 poly. But separating them is pretty tough with the adapter plate set up it has, I cant get to all the bolts. Any recommendations? |

Location: So. Cal | I would remove the iron part of the trans from the bellhousing. Then remove the motor & bellhousing as one unit. That would be much easier to do in the end and won't risk smacking into stuff. |

| Thanks I didn't think of splitting it. I'm used to one piece Torqueflites. |
