This has probably been hashed out long ago, but I am taking apart a very original 57 Dodge Royal and it shows some assembly marks that I have not seen on restored cars. Probably because they are not very pretty. On the engine after steam cleaning there are pretty large yellow paint brush swipes on each valve cover in the middle of the 2 bolts and down the lower half. There is also two yellow paint brush swipes on each side of the torque converter housing just below the screen on top. There is also the designation "S10" in red grease pencil on the firewall just above the ID tag and in the corner by the fender. Thought I would share that if anyone is interested. I have not run across any of those "OK" stickers yet though. Ha.

Neat! If you can post some pictures of these inspection marks for others to see. I will look at my 57 Dodge when I tear it down to see if mine has these same marks. I would love to reproduce them on my engine when I put it back in/

I did a ton of work on this topic for 57/58 Dodge years ago. Go to my Art Gallery thread. Last post 2016-09-13. I don't recall any for engine valve covers.

The marks on the valve covers have been steam cleaned so they are faded. They were not just pretty dabs they were brush swipes that start above the mid line of the cover and are swiped down to near the spark plug.

Resized to 2mb one more time.
The resizing requirement is less than 250 kB. Meaning your 36 to 51 kB photos above could have been a lot larger. 1024 x 780 is often a good sizing choice. (Around 100 kB).
Try again with some new photos. You'll get better.
