Location: Westminster, Colorado | Oh yea it’s has a OFFY 6 pack intake
I’m not sure I have the correct port being used
Does it use vacuum or pressure ?
The port I’m using just goes into a runner ? |

Location: So. Cal | Just use an ohm-meter to see if it is closed while the motor is running. If it is, then your NOS switch is bad. Yes it is supposed to switch open when a vacuum is applied through one of the runners. |

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I guess you missed the write-up I did on Neutral Safety switches on Sept. 21 (a few weeks ago):
I suggest you have read through it. The switch on the intake manifold uses vacuum to sense that the engine is running.

SO to be clear, the Neutral Safety Switch you installed looks like this?:
And the two pin vacuum switch looks like this?:
And the starter solenoid is a *FOUR* terminal solenoid, like this one?
And it is hooked up something like this?:
*AND* you have push button starter switch (activated when you push the "N" (neutral) button on the trans shift pad, similar to this one:
And everything is hooked up correctly?

Now I’m trying to figure out it’s wired correctly |

Location: Westminster, Colorado | yes I rechecked the wiring
And I think the issue was I didn’t have the solinoid grounded |

Location: Westminster, Colorado | It turns over now
I’ll try and start it later, I have the float out of the tank now
I’m replacing it , then I’ll see if it does or doesn’t turn over
When it’s started. |

Location: Southern CA | FYI on a related topic, starter relays. I had a problem with my starter staying engaged after the car started. The relay was bad, I replaced it twice with $10 relays from “Vans Auto on epay, same problem. Then I replaced it with a Standard Motor Products relay, and the problem went away.
