Location: DFW, TX | The two single-barrel intakes are indeed for industrial, marine, and truck applications.
Note that this is the earlier '51-54 style "wet" intake design, where the thermostat is integral to the intake. The more desirable, later '55+ Chrysler design uses a crossover housing for the thermostat making the intake "dry". |

Location: So. Cal | The vast majority of trucks have single 2bbl carbs on them. Only the really huge ones could have been fitted with this intake. But most industrial motors do use this intake for some reason.
This intake wasn't used on the marine motors though. The marine intake was similar in some respects, but quite a bit different than this, and doesn't have a thermostat housing.
But that's a crazy price for it. Don't know who would want to lay down $1500 for one of these. |
