I have sent some private messages however they stay in the outbox and not in the sent items. Any idea why this is happening?.

just means the receiver hasn't read them.

You have to look up in the upper left of the Forum screen and see "Welcome, Yourforumname (Logoff). You have 57 messages in your inbox (0 new)." Where "inbox" is the hyperlink (click on it)
