I've looked around and haven't found anything yet does anyone make a cloth or carpet esk cover for our dashes? I have one on my 72 dart and it has kept the dash from fading or cracking, works great.

Hum,....... on my '56 Canadian Dodge (a Plymouth body) the upper dash is painted steel and the flat gauge panel is also.
Sand and repaint if necessary ? Not that much different then the outside body finish.

Too true. When I was in high school in Regina (Saskatchewan, (easy to draw, hard to spell)), with my 55 Dodge (e.g. in 1967) I remember somebody asking about my padded dash. Then I rapped on it. Very hard metal. LOL.
