Location: Lower Mainland BC | I've asked John at Big M and he doesn't have anything.
Doesn't have to be from a 55 or 56 Dodge but the two parts need to look like these:

Location: So. Cal | I have them in my Plymouth if you want dimensions. The bracket you could make, but the wing nut is a tough one. |

I've "sketched" a bracket in my head made out of aluminum channel. That big wing nut *IS* *THE* problem.

Location: Lower Mainland BC | Thanks very much Marc. I went for the NOS one with free shipping (for US$24.00) instead of the other NOS one for US$19.99 with US$5.00 shipping (total US$24.99). And then the ePay tax kicked in. I hate it.
Now to find/make the bracket.

Done. I will private mail you my shipping details. A USPS small flat rate box or envelope will work.

Don't give them all away yet. The big wing nut that I did buy (eBay) is't 100% correct.
