There are lots of options. Some people just use a screw driver.

You can easily make one from the sketch in the service manual.

You can find the KD-435 frequently on ebay. Anywhere from 50-75. It's the right tool and will easily remove your handles. You will struggle with the other suggestions.

Thanks all. There are few tools on eBay so once I searched for the KD 435 they came up. As usual the input from this site is stellar.
