Location: Lower Mainland BC | I am running 235/75/15 radials on 7" wide 85 Dodge Diplomat cop car wheels on my 56 Dodge sedan. I had to trim the inside of the rear wheel well opening lip by about 3/4" to do so. I recently noticed that I am getting some rubbing on that lip and also on the inside front by the tie rod ends. I think the issue is the side walls are not very stiff and they are "bending" on corners, causing the rubbing. Normally going straight, no issues.
Bottomline: for my situation, I think 215/75/15 would have been a better choice.
I have posted info about wheel sizes and both bias and radial tire sizes but I can not search and give you the link on this tablet (no mouse)
If I went wide white wall radials I would investigate Diamondback.
Good Luck

| Do you think 225/75/15's would fit without rubbing? |

Location: NorCal | Tire fitment isn't just about the tire size but also the wheel offset and back spacing. Since a '56 wagon originally came with 7.10 X 15 tires, the modern equivalent is P215/75R-15. With stock wheels the 225 shouldn't be a problem. |
