I thought I remembered at one time that someone was making reproductions of the original 1957 to 1959 black rubber trunk mats. I know that there are generic carpet and crowsfoot, etc print vinyl and rubber mats cut to shape available, but I’d rather have something more like the original. Any leads?

That ship sailed about 15 years ago. The guy made excellent repros from an original mat out of a low mileage car. But even at 125-150, sales were slow. About a dozen or so out of 24 reproductions sold, with the rest going to Valley Vintage, Bernbaums or wherever. They sold out a long time ago. There is one in my 58 Plymouth. Looks great !

I'd be willing to wager there would be MUCH more demand now... I sure wish I had known.

thats the problem with FWL parts... you dont want to tool up thousands for 15 sales... and then people are like "thats only worth 100$!"....

Try the people who took over for Gary Goers:

Glad I at least remembered correctly. Would be a good idea to have people prepay so you don’t lose out. Yes, would be nice to have those available again, because I’m guessing the tooling is still out there. I’d take two today. I’ll check w the folks who took over Goers.

Goers sold out a long time ago, if he had any at all. The tooling is long gone, as is the guy that made this happen. He was a rubber parts vendor for GM, Ford and Chrysler Corp.
