Looks like a nice car at a fair price. Anyone know it?

Probably as nice of a 1957 Adventurer one can get for the money. Restorations cost way more than that. From what I can tell after recently completing a partial restoration of a factory original '57 Adventurer with only 21K miles, this one is not 100% perfect but pretty darn close. I think it's well worth the price.

I've refrained from pointing out a lot of incorrect things on this car, too, because I don't like doing that, either. I don't know the car (unless someone has the VIN, perhaps), and hope both the seller and the buyer are happy with any deal they make.

I dont normally do that either things either as its up to buyers to be happy with what they got and not everyone has the skill or money to make cars perfect nor may they know . But that body work is an abomination and cant be overlooked . How could you get that so wrong . Its almost like Ben Lexcens winged Keel on the Americas cup Yacht lol !!!

Somehow I think it was done on purpose. I really can't see why, but perhaps they wanted it that way?? Definitely doesn't work for me. Just looks weird and screws up the line with the hood.

I personally inspected this car 2 weeks ago while traveling in Florida. The pics you see from Hyman were either airbrushed or outright photoshopped, because the car is NOT that pretty in person... In addition to the weird front fender lips, it also has some black over-spray speckling across the entire front passenger fender, looks to be actually in the paint because its smooth to the touch and has already been buffed on. Also the trunk extension and rear wheelwells have been heavily patched and then undercoated to disguise the repairs. The exhaust system is a frankenstein mess of AutoZone slip joints and crush bends in like 1.5" diameter (looks tiny). The interior actually is pretty nice... for an old replacement job that was stored in a damp environment and only recently cleaned. Still has kind of a musty smell, but actually looks to pretty well put together and comfortable.

Driver's rear stainless trim is kinked noticeably and needs to be fixed, couple other minor brightwork issues, but nothing major.
Oh, and the "white" is not even close to correct, compare the Hyman Pic above and the photos from Ideal Classic Cars and you can see that in person it's almost pure white, and we all know the Adventurer color was closer to a beige or eggshell... The gold is a nice color, but has too much metallic to be "Correct".

Overall, it's an older refurbishment on a previously rusty car, that has good chrome, good interior, iffy paint, and an unkown mechanical status (I wasn't going to bother them with a test drive or putting it on a hoist).

I'm a pretty picky guy when it comes to "restored cars" so this one really let me down. I can't recall the exact price on the sheet, but I seem to recall them wanting either $79k or $89k for the car. Considering I sold my 1957 Adventurer Coupe to a friend of mine 5yrs ago for roughly $45k in much better condition than this one, I'd say they're on the high end of the market...

Regretfully, I didn't take any pics of the car while there, totally forgot to. Sorry.

There are NO fairly priced cars at Hyman! Generally speaking all his inventory is around 150% of current market value !
