Location: Lower Mainland BC | For the first time, I put my car in a car show (paid registration). Mopar Madness 2019 Langley BC. My class was 1955-61 Stock (as opposed to modified which meant engine/drive train swaps, etc - which I don't have).
Here are the Forward Look cars that were there (my 56 D500 Custom Royal was the only one with a hemi in the group and it was the only one with an almost matching beer cooler (I didn't quite get it done (with chrome trim on the sides) (LOL) :

Location: Branson, MO | Nice cars! Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see some of the subtle differences of the Canadian built cars compared to the US built. Dodges seem the most different but I think the DeSotos and Chryslers are more with the interiors than the sheet metal - I think........... Maybe? I also think there are engine differences too. |

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I was speaking with the owner of the 58 Canadian Windsor and he mentioned how he gets into "discussions" when he takes his Windsor into the US and people tell him that it isn't a Windsor (because it is on the 126 wheel base) but it is a Windsor, just not an American 122 wheel base (Dodge chassis??).
And it goes on.

| The 58 Desoto is a wonderfully restored car and won every award at the show. Good show they had 218 registered cars plus another 20-30 in the parking lot that didn't register. |

Dave, is that Windsor still owned by Norm Atkins in Westbank BC? If so he used to come to all our WPC Meets, but last time we saw him was in 2011 in Ellensburg, WA. As you mentioned, it's on the 126 inch wheelbase, same as the US Saratoga, New Yorker and 300. It's basically identical to the US 58 Saratoga, and the Saratoga wasn't sold in Canada in 1958. In 1959, Canada had the full lineup of Windsor, Saratoga and New Yorker, but only the Windsor and Saratoga were built in the Canadian plant. New Yorkers sold here were imports from Detroit. |

Chris G. saw the photos and phoned me to get details on the owner. I told him that it was a "Norm" and Norm knew you (not sure about Chris). Now I have a last name. He now lives NW of Kamloops near a lake (Red Lake). He said 35 km (or miles??) of gravel so the Windsor gets trailered to pavement.
I will try to find Norm's phone number and let Chris know.

Location: DFW, TX | All those cars are beautiful and I'm really digging your work on the cooler!
For '58, IMO the Saratoga had the "best" trim of the Chryslers and it's rare (and great!) to see a Canadian Windsor (as said above, largely the same car) restored to such a high degree. |

Thanks Dave, for some reason I thought Norm was in Westbank, but Westbank is in the Kelowna area, not Kamloops. I've heard the story about his 35 km gravel driveway. I haven't seen him since 2011, as I mentioned. |

Thanks for the cooler comment. I will be finishing it off soon (but not tomorrow, now that I missed the "deadline")
I really liked the Canadian Windsor/US Saratoga. The only thing I would change (for any 58 Chrysler) would be to swap in 57 Chrysler Taillights. I like lots of tail
....lights.

Not that I didn't believe you but they only recently posted up the official results:
The 58 Desoto did indeed win its class (55-61 Stock) and overall Best of Show (Stock).
