I am looking for a specific grill and head light surrounds for an export model 1955 DeSoto Diplomat.
Huh. I would have thought that those surrounds were just 55/56 Plymouth surrounds (??).
I just checked my 56 Canadian Chyrco parts book (hard copy) and for 56 the Export Diplomats were SP28 and SP29. There is a separate listing for export SP28 and SP29 "headlamp Plate ornaments" (???). The PNs are 1599 587 (right ??) and 1599 588 (left) (the opposite of the normal odd = left, even = right)

Still trying to figure out exactly where these cars were marketed. Seems that this version of the Diplomat never made it to Australia.
One gentleman from New Zealand though is looking around for me.
I spoke with an acquaintance of mine up in B.C. and he wasn't familiar with this grill either. He did confirm that most, if not all export models were produced in Canada which is why I thought that these would be around up north.
I don't have one of these. I have a '56 Plymouth that I think would look really cool sporting this grill.
I haven't heard back from anyone in Europe so perhaps these were sent to the African and Asian markets?

They were built in Canada for export, i.e. not for Canadian consumption. They were Desoto Diplomats. I think that I have seen photos from Europe and India (??)
