Location: Texas | I am aware the correct tire size for a 1956 DeSoto is a 7.60 x 15. Problem is the radial 7.60 x 15 is a lot more expensive than a 235 75R 15. They also have a wider whitewall that what came in 1956. Smaller metric tires like 215 75R 15 also seem to cost more than the 235 75R 15.
The 235 comes closest to the diameter of a 760 but is a bit wider.
Anyone have experience on using a 235 75R 15 on a 1956 Chrysler or DeSoto? |

Location: Lower Mainland BC | I have no idea what you are arguing with yourself about but I will say that I am running 235/75/15 radials on my 56 Dodge Custom Royal D500 that would have come with 7.60/15 bias ply tires back in the day. I had to trim some of the inner wheel well lip away because I am also running 15" 1985 Dodge Diplomat cop car wheels.
Your mileage may vary.
