I found these little spring flaps on the generator at the front and rear, I figure they are there to oil the bearings. How often, how much and what type of oil do you use? I'm gunna guess engine oil, but I'll wait for a reply. Thanks.

From my 1957 Dodge service manual in the section under lubrication;

5 to 10 drops of light engine oil every 1000 miles or 30 days, which ever comes first.

That often, well mine is overdue.
