I just got a new gas cap for my 57 Plymouth, a NOS Stant G36. The tank needs a vented cap but there’s no obvious hole in the cap for air to escape from or enter. Does it vent in some other way? Hopefully there’s an obvious answer to this that someone with more experience than me will know instantly!

Stant is aftermarket. Not NOS.

Does the cap say vented or non-vented on it ? If it doesn't say anything, you can drill a 1/8" hole in the cap and you're all set.

The stamped ribs in the cap are the vent path.

Got that, very helpful thanks. The cap isn’t vented, so a small hole will do the job. Thanks guys!
