| he can just cancel saying it sold locally, reserves on ebay don't account for much... its an original car? looks pretty good. his description is lacking though... and needs some more pics. I think its a restorer just feeling the waters out. i assume thats a replacement vin tag? since there is nothing on the door jam.

Location: So. Cal | VIN tags on '59 cars are a little funky. They have wavy lines on the top and bottom of them, and they can either be on the door jam or on the cowl, depending on where they were made. This car has the proper VIN tag on the door jamb as you can see if you blow up the picture.

| I think the vacuum tank on cars with Auto Pilot cruise control is located in the area underneath the battery tray. |

Location: Branson, MO | The vacuum tank on the 300E pictured in the post below this one is on the inner fender well mounted "sideways" close to the battery. |

Location: So. Cal | Yeah, that's what it is supposed to be like. I don't think it was transferred under the battery until 1960. Following the vacuum line to the booster, it looks like he is just running it without the tank. Not smart. Could cause a bad accident if he were actually driving it.

Location: Pau, S-W France | It's like i thought: without Auto Pilot the tank is parallel to the front fender but with Auto Pilot it is perpendicular. I think also that there are 2 references (cause different brackets) ... |

My 300C and 300D both have them on the door post like wise does my 300F
I'm pretty sure the 55's and 56's had those weird looking tags though.
Anyone know what the VIN # is?? |

| That car had a lot of issues. It was in a bankruptcy sell in alabama 2 years ago. I went and looked at it, had a lot of cosmetic issues. Was brought to an auction in fort lauderdale last year and didn't sell. I can't remember which auction it actually sold at after that, maybe mecum. The car has floated around 22-30k the entire time. Which is the right money on it given the condition. |
