| The pin that goes through the hinge on my 56 Sierra has sheared off. Not sure if replacing the pin is an option or if I have to replace the entire hinge. This will be tricky as the car has been repainted and the hinge and tailgate paint are blended together. What do you guys suggest? |

Location: Invermere B.C. Canada - Rocky Mountains | Not sure if this any help (usually not), on my '56 Plodge Suburban (Canadian Plymouth with Dodge front sheet metal) the tailgate lower hinge pins were very worn out. I removed the hinges and drilled out the old pins and because mine is just a daily driver I cut some round bar stock the size of the new holes and pressed (beat) them in. Then misplaced one of the hinges with the subsequent two month search. |

Location: Lower Mainland BC | Depending on whether you are talking about the upper articulated hinge or the lower tailgate to body hinge, you might be able to find an eBay door hinge pin and bushing that works.
