Location: Lubbock, TX | My dad owned the 1959 Imperial Convertible in that collection about 6 years ago. He bought it back around 2005 or so from an SR71 Blackbird pilot in CA. No s**t! It was super cool to meet the guy and I think I even have his autograph and photo of his plane around here somewhere. The 1959 at least is a stunning #2 condition car, never fully blown apart for resto, but fully refurbished back in the 1990's I believe. Mike Flynn at Hollywood Wheels had this Imperial collection for sale about 4-5yrs ago, and I think it may have sold to the current buyer?
The problem is: selling all cars as one lot. Who has $400k+ to spend on 5 cars? Pretty few people, and not all the cars are perfect restorations, so you gotta expect to fix or redo some things. Should be interesting to see where it ends up!

Location: Lubbock, TX | That's ridiculous, so averaging out $150k each? Man, they'd suffer to get that much selling seperately, let alone as a package. Oh well. :/

| I made an offer on them that I thought was fair, granted sight unseen. I'd like to at least look at them and see the condition. |

Nope, 750, which would require a bid of over 900 for the seller to net that. |

Is that the original color for that car? I thought Dubonnet was a Chrysler color. It could have been speical-ordered though. |

| I looked at them yesterday, nice cars. The 61 sold around 10 years ago for 55k at auction. There is no bad time on Friday or Saturday, there will be a mountain of people here. The GHIA is a cool car, but it just doesn't have enough wow factor to me, not for the price being asked. If it was a convertible, man it would be stunning. I think the car is worth 1/2-2/3 of what they want out of it. It has been advertised at auctions the past 18-24 months. For the money they want, I think there are cooler cars out there.
I did have some very interesting conversations about some other cars while here though :D |

| yeah I know they want a TON for the Ghias because of the rarity. I like the Dodge also. There is also the Chrysler Falcon... the 55-56 Dart Diablo, 54 Desoto Adventurer, 1952 Chrysler D’Elegance,1954 Plymouth Explorer, Dodge Firearrow, Chrysler Ghia ST all have that euro roadster look. For that kind of cash i guess you really want to have one of that style. Not sure investment wise, i would have to think if you could score one reasonable, not a huge risk in owning one.

| I think the 53 Dodge Storm Z 250 is my favorite though.
