Location: Connecticut | Many things incorrect about this car, including the dash plaque. Aluminum grille, headlight surrounds, etc. should not be chromed. Car has been glaringly over-restored. Still, the price is not too bad if you can live with that. I highly recommend seeing the car in person, and driving it, before making a decision. Who restores a car like that, then doesn't drive it for 11 years ? Ron |

| yoinks there is a ton of time/money in that car... it would only take a bit more to be pretty much perfect.
65k isnt crazy for the amount of work in that car. Get some SMS door panels, take the plaque off, some fine tuning and its near perfect. |

they're investments.

Agree. When a car is "restored" such that it is miles better than when it left the factory, that is too much (in my opinion).

What's interesting is that the Purchase Receipt photo shown has the same name as the 59 Fury dash plaque.....

Location: Perth Australia | The work thats gone into this car is amazing, There are some detailing issues I would want to fix like the side trim "line up" and where they hacked the hole in the carpet for the steering column ect, but I like the door panels and the other stuff they did, not a fan of the plaque
I dont buy cars as investments, I like to drive them. If you bought and drove this car, you also would not be trying to use it as an investment.
Lovely car and an equal "new" car would cost the same ( top of the model range) So I would look at it like that. New car or this car?
I would add A/C to it though, but where I live, its hot (38 deg C today)
Merry Christmas

I've seen blank dash plaques for sale on ebay. So they bought one and had it engraved. Considering how over-restored this car is, it's a very plausible explanation. But I think this plate is a fabrication. IIRC, then were made out of metal (brass?). The gold around the edges looks painted. Details aren't sharp, either. Finally, the plaque would read 'Joseph' not Joe. People were more formal back in the day. Ron |

The forum has been through this plaque issue before
FURY - 2009-05-16 6:49 PM
It WAS available on 57 and 58 Fury also, although the design had changed for those years and they were mounted on the carpet over the trans tunnel instead of on the glove-box door. And those ones were reproduced....down here in New Zealand. All sold now though, but taking orders for the next run if there is any interest.
