Wrong thread for this discussion but just interesting…
MODEL 25 = Firedome Sedan (2 = Firedome, 5 = 4door Sedan)
PAINT 419 = Iridescent Gray Upper Color and Sunny Yellow Lower Color
TRIM 553 = Gray Cloth and Vinyl (still need missing 1956 DeSoto trim code numbers)
http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=72796&...
SCHED 78 = approximately built on January 12, 1956
BODY NO = 15163, probably 163th Firedome built that day
PB 5 = Power Brakes
SG 1 = Solex Glass
Some info that has hidden by hole:
TR (it would be 3) = Powerflite Transmission
HR (it would be 5) = Heater
EC (it would be 1) = Electric Clock (if it equipped)

My mistake, I take a closer look:
Solex Glass column (SG) on the cowl tag located just left of PB5 column
This car is not equipped with Solex Glass, and with Electric Clock too
SC1 (not SG1 as I have written above) means Sun Cap Visor
Although SC might be decoded as Seat Cushion
But it is unlikely: I don’t know as in 1956, but according to 1955 DeSoto Codes - Rear Air Foam Seat Cushion has code 2…
