Location: Ramona, CA | Vans Auto has reproduction gas tanks for many cars and I asked if they planned to make them for 1960-64 wagons. They said no as they would need to make at least 300 of them.
Are there 300 people out there needing one? I know I had a hard time finding one and almost resorted to buying a rusted out one to try and repair as I had no tank at all. |

Location: Ohio | I would be interested in at least one gas tank. Even to just have as a spare.
A total of 300 minimum production unfortunately, seems like that maybe a difficult number to reach considering the number of wagons still around and not all of them will need a gas tank. |

Location: California | Tell Vans that they could probably double the price of the tanks and they would sell. This would recoup their initial cost quickly. The price of their regular tanks are very reasonable. I don't need one now, but I'm certain one will be needed in the future, |

Location: Ramona, CA | Ok, check this out. Someone posted these pictures on Facebook showing a new 1960-64 tank. They stated it was 57-59 but they had pictures of two different tanks. The other one was a flat under floor one. I contacted the company and they said these are just samples. But samples lead to production. I'll talk to them more about it tomorrow.

Location: Ramona, CA | And here's an interesting picture. The one with more ribs is a 1961 tank and the one with less is supposedly 1960 only. I had friends check their '61 and '64 wagons they had the more ribs. I was sold the one with the less ribs as a '61 Dodge tank so I'm not sure if there was a transition during the year.

Location: Ramona, CA | He says he has one in stock as pictured above. I don't know the price. You can contact Michael directly at Sales@moparpro.com.
I have not seen this tank in person but from the picture it looks like it requires a grommet for the fuel filler pipe. This is how 1964 tanks were made. The '60-63 ones use an o-ring inside a raised opening. The fuel filler pipes all have the same part number for all 5 years.
If someone here gets one, please reply back when you get it.

Location: Ramona, CA | I heard back from him. The price is $750. Production ones won't be available until March of 2021.
Once again. I've not seen this tank in person. I have no connection to the company. |

Location: Ramona, CA | Here's the ebay listing for the tank. I know the price is higher than people think it should be but there is a very limited market so the tooling cost can't be spread out as far as more common tanks.

Location: Muskego, WI | Thought I'd add that my tank from my 1960 wagon is of the "less ribs" design. For anyone looking for a new o-ring, it is standard size -329 (fractional size 2-3/8" OD, 2" ID, 0.200" cross section). I'm using McMaster-Carr part number 9452K48 which are 70 durometer Buna-N and they are $11.38 for a pack of 50! Or just search for o-ring size 329 and get the material you think would be most appropriate. |

Location: Ramona, CA | The new gas tanks are now available either through the Mopar Pro site or for a cheaper price on Ebay right now.
Note: I haven't seen these in person. They use a 1964 fuel filler pipe grommet instead of the o-ring used on 1960-63 models but the filler pipe is the same for all 5 years so that's not a problem.

Location: Muskego, WI | That ebay price is more reasonable, but still pretty expensive. However, it does appear to be a darn nice reproduction of the original. If my tank doesn't hold up, I'll go this route. |

Location: Muskego, WI | I ended up buying a tank. I "watched" the listing on ebay and this morning I received an offer to buy the tank at $531.24, so I went ahead an did it.
Now where do I find a 1964 pipe grommet? |

I contacted the seller about my tank, he's on vacation so the tank hasn't actually shipped yet. For some reason, ebay shows it as shipped and arriving today? Anyway, I'll post pictures of the tank when it arrives. |

Location: Ramona, CA | I ended up buying one of the Moparpro tanks as the factory one I put in started leaking. But I couldn't get the sending unit into the new tank. The flange where the sending unit is stamped wrong.
