In my experience an automotive paint shop will have a colour computer/paint scanner that can match the paint (and come up with a modern mix formula), *IF* you have a clean patch of body that is flat and about 4" x 4". Worked for me on my light (Wedgewood) blue.
Otherwise there is TCP Global's Auto Color Library

Location: Under the X in Texas | The PROBLEM with trying to computer match Gauguin Red is that it was very unstable due its red-based pigmentation. Any restorer is FAR ahead by just going to AutoColorLibrary or another supplier and having them work their magic. But with anyone, I would suggest requesting a sample card of what they will provide before before paying.

Then you might need to contact TCP Global as I (and others) have suggested:

Location: Chicago | You could message Carlton and ask what he used. There were three Gauguin red 300-Cs at the 2016 Chrysler 300 Club International fall meet at Elkhart Lake and his was deemed closest to the factory paint sample. |

| Hi Jim,
Earlier this am I replied and expected to see my reply message here, but it must be floating elsewhere.
My nephew painted my C, (it is the one next to the white C) in 1992 in my house garage in Cinn. My car was originally white, and then copper brown when I bought it and finished the restoration. I thought red looked the best.
I bought my paint at an auto parts shop in Covington, Kentucky. The paint I used was PPG, DELTRON, Acrylic Urethane(DAU). I still have the can with about 1/8" of hard paint in the bottom.

I have/had 3 different original paint chip charts for 60 Plymouth (one in the rare dealer booklet, that shows all paint combos and actual samples of vinyl and top materials) and my unrestored 60 Fury. The polished factory paint under the original weatherstripping was different than any of the paint chips and each paint chips was different from the other. I just picked the color I liked best.... and that finaly turned out a bit different again |
