Hello All,
So as most of you know from my frequent posts here I am working on the breaks on my 56 Windsor, While tearing down the rear breaks I went to inspect the break cams and i noticed that someone Probably my grandfather had wrenched on these things over the years and the cam itself is pretty rounded over from using the wrong tool. Does anyone know if you can find these plates any where, Am i better off just soaking these in marvels and trying to weld something to the cam. I also hear these cams where pretty firm and took quite abit of pressure to adjusts normally ? That True Any advise would be appreciated.

I have 56 Windsor 12" x 2.5" Center Plane Brakes on my 56 Dodge D500 (the Windsor brakes came with the D500 engine package).
There are a couple of threads on adjusting these brakes. The adjustment cam is interference fit but it isn't anything that should round off the adjustment bolt head - unless somebody wasn't using the proper tool or there was a bunch of rust in there. You're going to have to source a nicer center plane support plate and/or do something about that rounded mess in your photo.
I lieu of having the proper tool, I am using a 7/16" deep sock on a 3/8" drive breaker bar (swivel head but NO ratcheting). See photos below.

In case you are looking for actual part numbers for the Total Contact Center Plane brake shoes for your 56 Windsor
and not just the sections in the parts catalogue that show up on the parts diagrams (like 5-13-1), see below:
