Can someone post a picture of the date and displacement stamp near the distributor on a 361 engine?

So in this area:



carjock - 2007-05-15 5:30 AM

Look on the machined pad just under and to the right of the distributor base. The codes for the engine are stamped on this pad.
If it is a 1959 361 engine, the code will be ML 361. Hope this helps.




For a 1959 361 the casting was 1944959-6

Casting number is supposed to be 1737629 for 1961-64 361s

The earlier motors have them stamped as 360, like the ones in my '58 DeSotos. The "L" here stands for 1958. I'm not sure what the "L" in the picture above is for, but probably Low Compression or Low Performance.
