Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Hi Graeme,
VIN just tells you it's a 1957 300C, need the data plate on right hand side of radiator support. |

Just the VIN tells you very little. You need to post a photo of the data tag get more info.
That said 3N571279 *seems* to be a real 1957 Chrysler 300 C VIN. They started with 3N571001 (see below)
You should probably contact the Chrysler 300 club unless you are concerned that someone there might scoop it out from underneath you (??)

Location: Blackpool, United Kingdom. | Seller would be best contacting chrysler historical and getting a copy of build sheet, it's free to do, or contact the 300 club see if it's known to them, searched vin on Google and nothing comes back on it. |

though it has quarter panel medallion trim and holes ?
where the vin plate is located the steel plate behind it has been replaced and fixed with self tapers and weld .and the hole car is in primer has some 300 seat interior |

This 3N57*1279 car was built on the third decade of January 1957…
The 3N57*1263 car has SCHED 0123 = January 23, 1957
The 3N57*1342 car has SCHED 0128 = January 28, 1957
Your car would be scheduled between them…
Between January 23 and January 28, 1957…

Location: Eastern Iowa | Very possible a low optioned car.
I once had a D that was crank windows and power seat.
Join the 300 Club.
They can tell you what the car had for options when it left the factory.
Is the car in the UK at present? |

Location: So. Cal | I hope you're not really going to part it out. I have motor number 1313 in my 300C, which isn't the original. I would be willing to trade out the motor to the car that this motor actually belongs to. |

Location: Under the X in Texas | Once owned by Mr. Slattengren. Originally a white car. Original engine number was 1304. I don't have information on the car's options.
You have to remember that in '57 pretty much everything was NOT included even on a 300C. If you got Power Steering it had to be checked on the option list. Windows optional. Seats optional. Tinted glass did not even come standard if you ordered AC -- you had to order the glass option seperately. |

Location: So. Cal | My VIN number is 2761, but I'm not sure which motor number was correct for it yet. I don't know why the motors swapped around so much, I guess because they were parted out at some point in their life and the motors lived on in a drag car or something. All of my '57 Chryslers have had the motor number stamped on the right side of the frame, just in front of the spring hangar. So check there first. |

| It would be intresting to know what number difference was between vin and engine number at the time of production maybe someone out there knows.
In the day they were such sort after engines for the drag boys until the RB blocks were cast.
by chance have you any interior trim avalible ?
cheers graeme |
