| Hello. I have replaced both rear drums/hubs of my 60 Dodge with good used drums and renewed the linings. Now the return springs at the driver's side drum grind on the inside of the drum when driving. Not continuously, but every now and then. Okay, these drums don't "appertain" to the car but they actually fit very well and on the passenger side everything is fine. I have now grinded down the inside of the drum a bit. But the springs are still grinding occasionally. Do you have any ideas? Is it perhaps due to the axle play?
P.S.: It is critical to jack the car at the differential to raise both wheels ?

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | If one side has most of the shims this might happen.
It's perfectly OK to lift the car with the jack under the differential housing. |
