Hi everybody!
Pulling the torque flight transmission out of my 58 Plymouth and having issues with the cables, do you need to remove the transmission pan to access cable clip ? I got the outside clip off but can’t access the end. Also the E brake cable giving me fits... any help would be greatly appreciated

The 58 Torqueflite cable is held to the transmission by a bracket with a bolt. However, the inner part of the cable ends with an "arrow-head" that slipped by a spring loaded catch. Once the cable bracket is loose, you need to remove the small hex head plug on the side of the housing and poke something in the hole to push the spring and release the cable head. (See photo below)

The speedo cable has a screw in housing. Screw it off and pull the cable.

The eBrake cable has a ball at the end. Remove the inspection/adjustment plate and get the ball out of the bracket:
