| Hey Guys !! Working on my 60 Saratoga and trying to piece together a Long Ram intake set up for it. I started out with just the rams air cleaners and cross over tube. The question of concern among many, is that my car (that was of coarse not equipped with long rams) is the large vacuum tank that originally was mounted on top of drivers front fender apron on my car, can not be mounted in that original location. Where did it mount on a car equipped with long rams? I am thinking behind the headlights inside of driver front fender? Also my original tank has only one nipple on the tank for the hose. Any feedback about this tank? Pics would help if possible. Thanks and I Hope Everyone is Well. |

I can't find a photo but I think that I have seen a photo of a long ram car with PB where the vacuum tank is still on the driver's side inner fender but it is turned 90 deg to normal, i.e. E-W instead of N-S. Seemed to fit between the left air-cleaner and the battery.
That is what my memory says.
It could be wrong.

Location: christchurch New Zealand | The single vac pipe style tank has a plastic [fragile] Tee hose junction one way valve close to the booster, pretty sure this was 59 ?? but definately all 1960 on.With the vac tank down by the LF chassis rail inside the eng compartment by the rad support panel.

Location: central Illinois | On 60 DeSoto's the vacuum tank is mounted under the battery tray, on the LF fender apron and just barely visible under the tray. If you want a picture, PM me your email and I'll get it to you. |
