Best media to blast steel wheels with?

Veteran Posts: 269 Location: Tampa, FL For those who have stripped their wheels, what's the best media to use without damaging the bead area? Expert 5K+ Posts: 6498 Location: Newark, Texas (Fort Worth) Glass beads are pretty harmless. Sandpaper and wire brushes will work too. The scotchbrite pads/discs will remove it also. I'm talking about the bead area. Veteran Posts: 174 Location: Camptown PA I have a cabinet and use the finer grade ( around 80 to 100 grit) Al Oxide for just about everything
