| I'm rebuilding the 727 in my friend's 62 Fury. I pulled the output shaft out of the back and a ball bearing just laying on a bushing surface. I have no idea where it could have come from. PLEASE!!! Please, someone tell me they have an exploded view of a 1962 727. I have a book for 727's but it's for 70s.
I would REALLY appreciate some help here, I'm dying on this project.

Location: Alaska | Not an expert but doesn't the overrunning clutch in the rear of the case use ball bearings? There are also some in the valve body.

Location: NorCal | he 1/4" ball is the drive key for the rear pump inner rotor, fits in a pocket in the output shaft.

| Thanks for that link, it turns out the mysterious ball bearing was actually acted as the key for the rear oil pump. |

| Well, as always you guys really came though for me when I was in a pinch. Yea, after looking at it could see, on the pump inner, where the ball must have gone but I had to follow the link to the service manuals to see how the ball interacted with the output shaft. I see chizler showed the pump component with the slot for the ball and normsclassicradio showed not only the pump slot but also how the ball seated into the hole in the output shaft and the old "goop it up good with assembly goo so the ball doesn't fall out when you're assembling it" trick. And 56D500boy sending me the link to all the downloadable .PDF Factory Service Manuals ended up being a HUGE benefit I used it to get the ball and rear pump deal back together but then I used it to figure out the asinine park lock assembly. I had "help" removing the transmission. His method is, use a tool, drop it on the floor, or leave it covered in grease and grime and drop it on the tool cart with no regard for where it goes, unbolt a piece and yank...if it doesn't come apart it's "Wayne, how does this come apart?" By then the spring that hold the adapter to the park sprag lever was stretched out of shape and unusable. The manual on that topic saved my butt! And just now I looked and there's even a 1957 Dodge Factory Service Manual! I needed to look something for my 57 Suburban. I'm going to download every one of them on the list, there are something like 8 or so manuals on the list. If anyone has access to any more Mopar service manual please link them here.
