Location: The Mile High City | Did any of you Hemmings subscribers catch the 1958 New Yorker in the Glendale AZ Mecum auction results? It showed a four-door hardtop in "Original/#2-" condition (and they are picky about condition). Selling price $38,500. Average Selling Price: $11,000. They even went on to talk about it in the description: "The final sales price more than tripled the sales average...[for a] 25,000 mile original..." I don't think you could find a sedan in that condition for double their so-called average selling price! If they didn't have adequate information, they should have just listed the average selling price as N/A - which they sometimes do. Incredulous! |
