Subject: Trying to make sense of the Los Angeles Plant Cowl Data Tags

Based on what I have learned about 1956 Dodges (for example), there were three different cowl tags used:

1. An "early" Detroit-based tag (as late as May 15, 1956)

2. A later (seems to have started late(ish( May 1956) Detroit tag that looks like the 1957 Dodge tags

3. The Los Angeles plant tags

(NOTE: There has already been some (4 pages - a lot) of discussion about the LA cowl data tags in a previous thread that started off about my particular tag but it got lost talking about other LA tags. Maybe the new discussion could happen here???))

Here is a LA cowl tag response that was in a Detroit IBM card thread, added here in hopes that future LA cowl tag discussion might happen in a thread with the correct serchable title:

Are these cars (M1 = 7 = 357) really equipped with FACTORY power steering?
