The 56 Dodge 271 paint code meant: Sapphire White roof, Iridescent Charcoal saddle and Oriental Coral Lower. It was the main colour combo used in the primary documents, i.e. the brochure covers, advertising, etc.
The 271 paint code was not exclusive to the "star" of the brochures, the 56 Custom Royal Lancer 2 dr hardtop. It could be had on any of the body styles including 4 dr sedans, 4 dr hard tops, convertibles, wagons and 2 dr sedans (Coronet only), examples of which are shown below. If I chose a photo of your car to use an example, I apologize for not asking permission or giving credit. They are all beautiful cars.
It should be noted that the most common "matching" interior was one with black and white as the main colours.
