Found the image below in a current (Aug. 24/2020) eBay advert for a 56 Plymouth colour and fabric dealer book (too rich for my blood).
RDP from this forum enhanced the photo from the dealer book (thanks Robert) and I lightened it a bit more. I think that it is very readable. (I also think that it has a few typos in it )

Sorry Nathan. I had totally forgotten about your thread. Yours is much better in every way. I can't delete my thread (this one) now so let's just let it die.
Too bad there weren't trim codes with the fabric samples.

Location: So. Cal | It would be good to get a list of trim codes going, at least for the ones that we come across and know what they should be. |

So, what we have about ’56 Plymouth Trim Codes:
PLAZA AND SAVOY
825 = All Vinyl – Tan (Leatherette) – see a ’56 Plymouth Order Codes
SAVOY
505 = Vinyl and Cloth – Blue
BELVEDERE
508 = Vinyl and Cloth – Green
510 = Vinyl and Cloth – Rose and Black
http://forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=70649&post...
Notice, please:
1956 Dodge Trim Codes beginnings from code 526 for vinyl and cloth and from 826 from all vinyl upholstery…
When the Plymouth trim code numbers are ending – ’56 Dodge trim codes are starting…
It is significantly narrows the search
Nathan: give a trim code numbers, please…

Location: So. Cal | The book doesn't have the trim codes, unfortunately. Nor does the book for the '55 Plymouth. They are rather sparse on details. But my guess, based on the order they are shown in the book would be:
Suburban:
Deluxe---Gray
Custom--Brown
----------Green
----------Black/Gray
Sport Brown/Beige
Plaza:
Gray 499
Green 500
Blue 501
Savoy:
Brown 502
Gray 503
Green 504
Blue 505
Belvedere Sedan & 2dr:
Blue 506
Green 507
Brown 508
White/Black 509
Rose/Black 510
Belvedere 4dr hardtop:
Blue 511
Green 512
Brown 513
White/Black 514
Rose/Black 515
Convertible:
Blue 516
Green 517
Brown 518
White/Black 519
Rose/Black 520
Fury:
Tan Leatherette 825?
But as I say, this is a total guess that happens to match my cars.

No, no, no Nathan:
The cloth and vinyl trims started up for 5xx, and all vinyl trims up for 8xxx |

Can anyone interpret the cowl tag? Is it an export model?

Location: So. Cal | I just verified today that '56 Savoy Gray upholstery is Trim Code 506. So my guess is way off. I'm not sure how they numbered them. This is Dave's parts car: '56 4dr Savoy, 6cyl, powerflite, no heater, no radio, power steering!, manual brakes. Only codes are M8=3, M9=1. This might help to nail down which option designates power steering. This car is very odd though. It is a 6cyl Savoy with body code 625, which matches properly, but it has paint code 681, canary yellow/white, which is supposed to only be available on the Belvedere. I guess they didn't follow those rules very strictly. The back seat definitely was covered in the original gray Savoy cloth though, not for a Belvedere.

No heater, km/h speedo, manual gearbox, low priced line, but V8 . Definitely southern car. European? Lewant?
And starnge homemade body tag. "motor, chas, type" - looks like english. I think "merk" might be a clue. |

Location: So. Cal | It seems that M9=1 indicates power steering, or that power steering isn't included at all on the option plate. I think those are the only possibilities. |

I guess M8=3 is Poweflite and M9=1 is a Delivery Route...
It seems like M9=8 - Delivery Route by Rail, not a M9=1 |

Might it be so?
PLAZA
501 = Green
502 = Blue
503 = Gray
SAVOY
504 = Green
505 = Blue
506 = Gray
507 = Brown
BELVEDERE
508 = Green
509 = Blue
510 = Gray (White/Black)
511 = Brown
512 = Rose/Black
Maybe Nathan’s Belvedere originally was white/black and not a rose/black?
