Well Today I won't be able to go in the garage today . The '61 is getting the painted today . I know it has been a long journey on the car. There are times I got frustrated and wanted to call it quits but I hung in there instead and was patient about it . After the car is put back to gather and running again I will be going to the tint shop and getting my windows tinted . I will try to take photos later on but I do not to smell paint fumes

The front fenders are still in primer the hood had to be sanded back down to the metal again cancer on the hood . My dad is going to put car cancer killer on the hood to stop it . After my does what is needed on the hood and premiering it both the hood and the fenders will be painted. He also suggested I replace the battery with a new 1 he told me the 1 I have is 7 years old . it has been a long journey on this car . there were some delays because of a certain car being a royal PITA but I won't mention it . It was a mopar but it was not a forward look .

The front fenders have been painted but neither 1 has a hole for the antenna and the car did not come with a hyfy radio.

The camera lens may be scratched, or just needs to be cleaned off. I know when I use my phone in the shop, it can get crud all over it.

Its an iPhone . its the plastic hanging on the walls from when the car got painted Today the new carpet is in the car but its got to set for a day or 2. The back up lights are back in the car. I polished the dash and waxed it. I also cleaned the side panels and put leather conditioner on them. The trunk weather strip was installed also

black is beautiful but it is hard to keep clean. When I get the car back on the road it is going to the tint shop for window tinting

Front fenders are back on . The plate is back on ( 1961 TN plate) . The chrome is on the trunk at the end Its getting there alot of the hard work is starting to pay off I also plan to tint the windows on this 1 also and yes my mind is made up to do this . I tinted the windows on my last '61 and before I did this the interior got hot but when I put the tint on it made a difference it was cooler and plus this will protect the interior.

The accelerator pedal is back in the car and the jack and spare tire are in the trunk . I just noticed the door sill plate. I also know my brake pedal is not correct and I have tried to get the correct 1 but Bernbaum no longer has them . I even tried them twice,

You might search ebay for that pedal pad. NOS / NORS parts come up for sale quite often.

Car is looking terrific!!

I have no idea what is "correct" on your Fury, but I did find these on eBay. Is one of them what you are looking for?

There are times I wish they took my other '61 had both cars parked next to each other for a photo and I even told them they could take it. its the best photo I can locate. The 61 Plymouth brake pedal is the same as the 1960. It has the same “dot” pattern as the accelerator pedal, and will say “power brake” across the top on cars equipped with power brakes. I have seen them on eBay in the past.

The style in the first eBay link you posted was used on 57-59 Dodge & DeSotos,I believe the style in the second link was used on Chryslers

I have two of these, both of mine came out of manual brake cars (1960 Plymouths). Is this what you're after? If so, send me a PM. This is dirty, but I think it would clean up well with some Goop hand cleaner. Can't do much about the wear on the corners.

It’s amazing how much thought went into the design if these cars. Even the brake have a modernistic design with each end rising on the top forming a “chevron” in the center. They appear to have started using that design in 1957 and kept it until 1961 at least.

Looking great! Your dad is to be commended. Your shop lighting, the sunlight coming in from the outside, and possibly your camera flash are contributing to less than stellar photos. Can't wait to see it out in the sunlight.

The headlights and the grill are back on the car Next will be the bumpers. and the chrome by the windshield and the back windows and the starting up of the poly 318 . All this hard work really paid off I will probably do a video and post it on youtube. The fender spears need to be put back on

The Journey is about complete on this for ward look The bumpers are put back on . The rest of the trimming but I am waiting for Door and Roof rail W/S for the car . The car has not been started yet You will even noticed something different about the front bumper of this car .I know some time in the future the rear bumper will need to be straightened and rechromed . I hope I can find a shop in TN or AL that does this.

The wipers are back on the car and so are the fury scripts . I am waiting for the wiring harness for the electronic ignition. The 1 that came in the kit would not connect to the modular.

Here is another photo you might notice something about the front bumper . This is the last restoration my dad is doing for me and he only did this as a hobby . I also helped on it also. It is waiting to be started the harness that connects to the modualtor did not hook up so I had to wait for another 1 and then the car will be back on the road . It won't let me post a photo for some reason I will try again later

The car is waiting to be started I got the harness but the wrong 1 was sent GRR. I have some electrical problems the front turning signals do not work it is blind in 1 eye( Headlight does not work) Horn does not work and the lighter does not work I do not smoke and the lighter will be used for me to plug in my cell phone charger so I can charge my phone or listen to my music on iPhone.
My dad went to a swap Meet and got 4 halogen headlights for the car fuses and a battery terminal and got an awesome deal. For some reason it is not letting post any more photos it must either be me or the site I do not know

Photos have to be less than 250 kB (1024 x 768 is a good size) *AND* they need to be .jpg photos. .jpeg files from iPhones do NOT work very well, if at all.

Try again.

Oh I know but for some reason the site is not letting me upload the photos and I do not know why . I do have a video of the car running and going for its 1st drive . It will have more drives but only on the street the horn does not work , front turn signals and the brake lights do not work but those will be corrected . My dad will correct those problems until these are done the car does not go on the main roads . I uploaded the video on youtube and I will be sharing it here also. https://youtu.be/bMi51cKOyrU

Congrats! One of the best looking '61 Plymouths in existents. Love it with the red interior too - beats the livin' daylights out of the 57 shades of gray.

Thank you for posting these I really appreciate it . it took almost 6 years to do this car . I was not rushing my dad and this is the last car is doing for me. It was a journey but the hard work really paid off . . I was also advised to use Meguires wax but the liquid . I did and I used a new microfiber towel . This forward looker is getting tired so good night fellow forwardlookers.

I got to do Pulaski, TN Christmas parade on the 17th of December with the PACE car club and got 2nd place but the trophy belongs to every body in the club . I picked it up and waiting on if I should keep it or pass it to the president of the club I let my dad drive the car and I video recorded from my iPhone . I have uploaded some videos of test drives I am on the passenger side if the car . I took the car in for an alignment and had nitrogen put in the tires . Now the car is in hibernation until Spring then its car show and cruise in Season again .
Merry Christmas to my fellow forward look owners .

The hard work really paid off . It was a 5 1/2 year project I know some shows require a fire extinglisher In the future I plan to get the bumpers rechromed I hope to locate a shop close to home I live in Tennessee
. I am saving to get the windows tinted to protect the interior. There is a thing called REDIRAD-rescue your radio I am looking at ://redirad.com I want to be able to listen to the music from my iPhone through my radio My dad took some more photos of the car and it has stuffed bears in the back seat I was decorating for a Christmas parade. The car club I belong to got 2nd place so I participated with them but all of us picked up a 2nd place trophy. My dad told me he would like to see me get 1st place but it does not matter to me if I get a trophy or not I go to these shows to have a good time. To those who live in Alabama and TN or any other state the TN Valley Mopar club will have its Show June 19,2021 at the Huntsville drag way

I have never used them but I have heard good things about their work.

I just sent out front and rear 61 ply bumpers with bumper tie to auto and truck bumper in Hayward California.
Cost to plate was about $1600

Nice car, sorry to see that it broke down and had to be transported on a trailer. Hopefully the problem is not too bad.

it wasn't broke down my dad and I decided to trailer it to the show instead He had some items he wanted to sell and rode in the truck to have AC my '61 has an under dash AC unit but its not back in the car yet. I dd drive it to Athens , AL with no problems but I still take my iPhone with me incase. I also plan to have it Music City Mopar and it will also be trailered there. Here is a photo of my '61 and the '56 Plymouth waiting to be judged this you do not see that often 2 forward looks parked next to each other

I even told the owner of the '56 about this website the '56 has 12K original miles and was in a museum for 50 years . The seats have the plastic protection from the factory

You and your father have done a great job on your Fury. The fabric in the '56 Belvedere looks like it has been replaced as it isn't the original that it would have come with from the factory.

It might not be fabric - it could be vinyl in which case I believe there was no pattern.

The vinyl was only available as an option on the convertibles, not on the coupes. A possible variance could be if the car was built for export. In that case, I'm not sure what it would have come with.

It was a 5 1/2 year project it was a journey but there were times I wanted to throw in the towel and call it quits . I know a lot get that feeling but when I did I walked away for a while took a break and went back to it. I took it to its 1st show after the restoration my competiton was a 1956 belvedere but 1 of the forward looks came home with a 1st place trophy. The next show will be Music city Mopar this coming Saturday . I hope to see more Forward looks there, the car in the back is my 2016 Dodge Challenger

Stephannie,

Having followed your build for the past couple of years, I can honestly say it is one of the finest I have ever seen. You have truly out-done yourself and can be very proud of your accomplishment. Best of luck with your stunningly beautiful ride!

There will be no photos of Music city and a video due to hard luck ( Tires on trailer went bad and they need to be replaced) and now my forward look was crying its head lights out . I said I am sorry I did not want to take any chances for you to get damaged its best to be safe than sorry so my dad and I turned around and came home but we all made it . I called the treasurer of Music city and told him what happened I will be getting my t shirt in the mail off I get a hard luck trophy and if I do not that is also ok . This is 1 example why I always take a cell phone
