While going through the Valiant I came across a disturbing sight. These are the things you get when buying sight unseen.

I'm going to try a little air and a BFH and see if I can get it to "pop" out.

That stinks. The air is a good idea. Hard to get it to seal, but it doesn't take much psi to move things around. Doing it with a helper and using a hammer at the same time should be successful. Just don't over-apply the air as it can pop it out beyond where it should be.

I think it would be best to try a hard rubber hammer first with the air.

FAIL!
The air started to work then a crease opened up and that was that.
I bit the bullet and just ordered a new tank and sending unit.
I'll let you know how it works out.

You're lucky, the Lancer wagon tank isn't available new as far as I know.
