Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | Why is there such a large gap between the air cleaner housings? They should be almost touching - there are small rubber snubbers on the back side of each air cleaner that kind of keeps the gap straight. These are way apart.

Location: Lubbock, TX | I think the 300D has that gap because it uses the 1957 intake manifold which was intended for hang down air cleaners. Every other car with the ovals from 1958 and onward was a Big Block V8 and thus had a different intake that put the air cleaners close together necessitating the rubber snubbers.

I'm not seeing that gap in this 300-D, belongs to a friend of mine

Location: Lubbock, TX | I went to the shop and measured from the center air cleaner stud to stud and the 300D is 9”, while the 300E is 6.75”. So definitely a 2.25” difference between the Hemi intake and the Big Block intake.

Location: NY & VT | Bet that belongs to Don Petty (Richard's cousin) in AZ. He has what might be the best collection of 300s in the world, I know at one time when I was talking to him he had one or more of every year from '55 to '65, including one of the super rare '60 or '61? (I forget the year) Chrysler factory Pont-a-Mousson (as developed for Facel Vega) floor shift cars, all in show condition. Also a very large collection of parts cars and parts. Very nice guy, I've dealt with him several times.

| The turquoise D above appears to have 1959-style outside mirrors, did anyone else notice this? |
