Location: PL / EU | Here is the body codes table for the 56 Chrysler.
This still requires some additional data. The blue codes are just a guess.

Robert - it is a great thread!
Your guesse absolutely correct!
You forgot for the Imperials:
55 = 4 Door Sedan
56 = 2 Door Hardtop Southampton
51 = 4 Door Hardtop Southampton
67 = Crown Imperial 4 Door Sedan, 8P
68 = Crown Imperial Limousine, 8P

Location: PL / EU | Thanks Igor! I don't forget, '56 Imperial still used the Chrysler body, but it was a separate brand.
I am wondering about the Windsor 4d sedan code 125 - looking at the other three LA codes, it should be 025. Maybe 125 refers only to the Spring Special? |

Interesting question from you again...
I've rechecked my '56 Chrysler database
Unfortunately I have no idea about this.
You are might be right, probably.

I remember this is a topic about 1956 Chrysler, but still ever:
This is 1955 Imperial 4 Door Sedan
Same question:
What the "0" between Body Code 55 and Paint Code 77?

That was built on June 21, 1956 (SCHED 621)
Is that later (or spring) model too?

| Hello
Great info that is available. Probably a silly question, but how do you order the IBM card?
Thanks |

You need to email Danielle Szostak at Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler (previously Chrysler)) Historical with proof of ownership, e.g. title/registration with the VIN and your name and address on it.
If she is back (Covid lockdown/out), you will receive and .jpg image of your car's IBM card from the point in time that they put the IBM card through the microfiche photography process
(automated and pretty terrible focus but that is all she has - there was a fire or two)

Just for the fun:
If the ’56 Chrysler 300 B Convertible had been built, it would probably have had the body code 49…
41 = New Yorker Newport 4 Door Hardtop
42 = New Yorker Newport 2 Door Hardtop (less expensive 2 Door Hardtop)
43 = New Yorker Convertible
44 = 300 B 2 Door Hardtop
45 = New Yorker 4 Door Sedan
46 = New Yorker St. Regis 2 Door Hardtop (more expensive 2 Door Hardtop)
47 = 4 Door Sedan, 8 Passenger (No New Yorkers built in that body style, last «7» occupied by Imperial)
48 = Limousine, 8 Passenger (No New Yorkers built in that body style, last «8» occupied by Imperial)
49 = 300 B Convertible – only «9» left a free…
P.S. this is not ‘56 300 B, but the body code would be same…
